At Crest Chiropractic we are particularly interested in Neuro-Impulse Protocol (NIP). We like educating our patients about the value of wellness as well as the impact that regular chiropractic therapy plays in their overall health.

Tarryn, a native of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, cultivated a profound interest in the intricacies of the human body and health during her formative years. Her journey into the medical field took shape when a chiropractor visited her school during a career exploration event. Captivated by the practitioner’s presentation, she was drawn to the prospect of contributing to the medical domain while utilising hands-on treatment methods.
Away from her professional responsibilities, Tarryn finds solace in her home and garden, engaging in activities such as reading and crafts. She actively participates in her family’s engagement with their church community. Demonstrating a fervent passion for interpersonal connections, she values her role in the lives of her patients, firmly believing in collaborative efforts to achieve optimal health outcomes.

Dr Kirstin Shearar
Durban University of Technology
Kirstin, originally hailing from the Transvaal and having spent her early years in KZN, specifically in Waterfall, Alverstone, and Assagay, initially set her sights on a career in Medicine. However, a fortuitous exploration of health science courses led her to discover chiropractic, a field that resonated with her due to its coverage of basic sciences akin to medicine. It wasn’t until around her third year of studies at Durban University of Technology that she gained a comprehensive understanding of chiropractic and its potential.
In a pivotal moment during her final years at the university, Kirstin encountered Dr. Neil Davies, a chiropractor, which sparked her journey into the realm of Paediatric Chiropractic and the adoption of the Neuroimpulse Protocol technique. Believing in the philosophy of excelling in one’s chosen field, Kirstin has honed her expertise in Neuroimpulse Protocol, integrating a global wellness approach into her practice. Her commitment to effective healing extends to the incorporation of techniques such as dry needling and taping when deemed beneficial.
Kirstin, an introvert with a penchant for listening, derives immense satisfaction from unravelling the complexities of the human brain for her patients. Her goal is to ensure that every patient leaves her room with a deeper understanding of their body and its functions. With a special focus on Paediatrics, Kirstin played a key role in guiding the MSc Paediatric Chiropractic course, accredited by Ulster University in the UK.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Kirstin is a mother of three children and an avid adrenaline enthusiast, particularly thriving in the realm of Enduro Mountain Biking. Acknowledging her inability to multitask, she compensates with her proficiency in lip syncing. Her love for sports is diverse, encompassing hockey, tennis, mountain biking, running, and the occasional round of golf. Kirstin’s interests extend to board games and reading, proudly declaring her immunity to boredom.
